How to Design Programs is sometimes referred to as a more accessible intro to CS than Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs. The text is freely available in HTML format at http://www.htdp.org/ Let's go through the book together and work through the exercises, including the extra problems found on the website.

Prerequisites and Difficulty

This class will go through a very introductory Computer Science text. It should be appropriate as a first experience with computer programming. Familiarity with high school and college-level math concepts may be necessary to complete some of the exercises.
