New logo along with new name

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Curious Reef just got 48% nicer to look at today.

I’ve added a new logo that replaces the cheap-o one I had originally threw together myself.  The new logo comes with a lighter, friendlier shade of blue and brighter orange for contrast.  I think it will lighten things up around here.

The name change from Crunch Course to Curious Reef also warranted a new tagline.  Instead of “Focused social learning,” I feel “Exploratory social learning” is a better fit for the community that is evolving.  That’s particularly evidenced by the classes “Survey of Artificial Intelligence” and “Learning Vim from the inside,” which have a losely organized structure, but feel more free-form and have the ability to transform however the instructor and students want to go.  Learning really is an exploratory adventure, and I think the new name, tagline, and logo reflect that.

Feel free to send me any questions or comments at kevin@curiousreef.com.  I’d love to hear your feedback.
